Kathleen Spanbauer

Kathleen Joyce Spanbauer was born to Aurelia (Gruber) and Edwin Herrmann on September 14, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On June 10th 1946, Kathleen was united in marriage to John Louis Spanbauer in Waukeegan, Illinois.  They had two children, Mark and Jill.  They raised their family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Kathleen was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a beautician and real estate agent in Milwaukee.  Family was of the utmost importance to Kathleen and John.  They moved to Alexandria, Minnesota in 1988 to be closer to their son and his family.   They loved spending time with their grandchildren.

After John passed away on January 4, 1994, Kathleen lived independently in Alexandria until moving to Nelson Gables in approximately 2007.  Kathleen moved to Brookdale Memory Care to be closer to her Elizabeth, her youngest granddaughter in October of 2017.

Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kathleen J. Spanbauer died on February 24, 2018 at the age of 90 years old.  She was living at Brookdale Memory Care in Eden Prairie, MN. She is survived by her son, Mark Spanbauer (Christie) of Venice Florida, half-siblings Jack and Carol, grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean), Bridget, Samuel (April) and Elizabeth (Scott) and great grandchildren, Anna, Ella, Layla, Jolea, Kylee, Mark, Charla, AJ and Madeline.

She was preceded in death my her parents Edwin and Aurelia Herrmann, daughter Jill, husband John, brother Edwin, sister Lorrainne and grandaughter Mila.
