Evansville

Kathleen Rose (Marquette) Rolfs passed away on Sunday, July 5th, 2026 at her home in Evansville. Kathy was born to the late Lawrence and Emerald (Baker) Marquette on November 29th, 1949 in Alexandria, MN. She attended public school in the Alexandria area and graduated from Jefferson High School with the class of 1965.

Kathy spent her whole life living in the area – Nelson, Alexandria, Sauk Centre, but mostly Evansville. She loved driving around Evansville and taking road trips, drinking Diet Coke and smoking Marlboros. These road trips also included cruising over to “K-Town” to visit her friend Larry, which she did faithfully twice a week for decades.

Kathy spent several years working at an aseptic packaging company in Hoffman, but her true passion was being a caregiver and frequent babysitter. She may not have had any children of her own, but she was the best second mother anyone could have ever asked for. Kathy had the biggest heart and was incredibly kind and loving to everyone she knew. She enjoyed fixing cars, fishing, listening to rock music, visiting with her family and friends and attending any of the churches in Evansville – she loved them all.

As the longest resident at her apartment complex, Kathy was a great neighbor. She loved helping her neighbors go to the grocery store and run errands. Kathy will be missed dearly by the Evansville community she cherished so much. Kathy passed away peacefully in her home on July 5, 2026.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Keller of Alexandria; niece and nephews: Kris (David) Weber of Sauk Centre, Jamie Keller of Minneapolis, and Frank Keller of St. Cloud; great-nieces: Devyn Olson, Jazmine (Tyler) Nesvik, and their children Chevelle and Olive; niece-in-law, Julie Keller, and her children, Everett and Ellie; special friend, Larry Hamilton of Kensington; her second family: Heidi Englund, Danny Mohrmann, Dan (Mona) Mohrmann, Jim Mohrmann and their children: Michael, Jason, Janelle, and Tessa; she will also be missed by many other beloved relatives, neighbors, and friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Marquette and Emerald (Bonnie) Hood; siblings: John, Mary, and Jim Marquette; brother-in-law, Anton Keller; nephew, Tony Keller; infant niece, Wendy Keller; great-great-niece, Presley Nesvik; and her best friend, Terrie Mohrmann.

A celebration of life for Kathy will be held at the Evansville Senior Center on Saturday, August 22, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM.
