Julie Ann Hovel

Julie Ann Hovel, age 52, passed away on December 2, 2023 in Alexandria Minnesota. She was born on April 16, 1971 to Steve and Sue (Hanse) Leitte. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Julie was a loving daughter, wife, and mother. Everyone knew her as an outgoing, funny, detailed, and caring person. You couldn’t ask anyone else in the world to make you feel better after a bad day. She would love to give you a hug any chance she got.

After graduating from Fergus Falls, she attended at NDSU where she met the love of her life, Dan Hovel. They got married on July 22nd 1994 in Fergus Falls. They soon had Chase in 1996, In 2008 they were blessed with another son, Caiden. She loved her kids with all her heart, she was always there for them. She got to enjoy her son Chase’s marriage to Randi Roof on October 8, 2022.

They moved to Burnsville for Julie to pursue her degree to be a chiropractor. After graduating, they moved to Alexandria so she could start her career as a chiropractor eventually starting Cardinal Chiropractic.  

She will be missed by her beloved husband and 2 sons, her parents, her sister Lynn (Ben Reed) Leitte, In-Laws John and Deb Hovel, Jane (Jeff) Schlotfeld, Blair (Lecia) Hovel, Nieces and Nephews, Isabelle (Shane Ecker), Samantha, Frederick, Rosemary, and Ahryanna, and life long best friend Maryann (Buck) Buckner and their sons.

She was greeted in heaven by Grandpa Lester and Grandma Juliene Leitte and Grandpa Walter and Grandma Pearl Hanse.     

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue on Friday, December 8, 2023, 10:30 – 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.
