Judith Hyatt

October 4, 1943 — October 15, 2021

Alexandria, Minnesota

Judith Anne Hyatt, the daughter of Kenneth and Lillian (Thompson) Lamb, was born on October 4, 1943, in Britton, SD.  Judy grew up on the family farm near Cogswell, ND.  After graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities, where she met her husband, Darryl.  Together they were united in marriage on March 13, 1964.  They were blessed with two beautiful children, Janell and Derek.

In 1975, Judy and her family moved to Crookston, MN.  Judy ran a day care in her home for 10 years and was able to care for her own children at home.  She then worked as a receptionist for a chiropractor for a few years before working for the Crookston school district as a para-professional working with younger children.  After Judy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Judy and Daryl moved to Alexandria to be closer to their family.

Judy had a strong faith and loved to spend time with family.  She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, tending to her flower beds, and playing cards.  She looked forward to annual ice-fishing trips with her family and spending time with friends and family.

Judith A. Hyatt died on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Alomere Health in Alexandria after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s complicated by COVID at the age of 78 years old.  She is survived by her husband, Darryl; children, Janell Koentopf of Chico, CA and Derek Hyatt of East Gull Lake; grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Jackson all of Chico, CA; brothers, Kent (Jackie) Lamb of St. Paul and James (Floy) Lamb of Watertown, SD.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

A special thank you to the entire staff of Diamond Willow Assistant Living in Alexandria for the kind and compassionate care they provided Judy over the years.

She will forever be loved by her family and friends.
