Carlos Township

Judi Olson, born Judith Leona Klimek on a warm summer day in 1954 in Alexandria, MN, left this world on March 25, 2024, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Judi's journey in life was nothing short of remarkable. She embarked on a diverse career path that showcased her versatility and compassion. Starting as an Industrial Engineer at Fingerhut, she later delved into the world of insurance sales before finding her true calling at REM as a devoted care attendant for autistic children and the disabled. Her dedication to helping others shone brightly in every role she pursued.

Judi was a woman of many talents and passions. She found immense joy in spending time with her beloved family, often showcasing her culinary skills by preparing holiday feasts for them. Her green thumb was evident to all who saw her meticulously tended gardens blooming with every imaginable flower - though yellow roses held a special place in her heart. In her younger years, she found solace in and took pride in raising chickens; proving time and again that there was no challenge too great for her resilient spirit.

Her impact extended beyond her professional and personal endeavors; Judi found purpose through service to her community as a pillar of the VFW. She held various positions within the organization locally - from Treasurer to President - and furthered her dedication by serving as the Treasurer and District 5 President, leaving an indelible mark on all those whose lives she touched.

In the tapestry of family and friends that adorned Judi's life, there existed deep love and cherished memories that will forever linger in their hearts. She is survived by her loving husband Gary Olson; devoted children Jason (Hilary), Chad (Stacy), Ginger (Randy Mayer); 9 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Doug Klimek, Tim Klimek; sisters: Mona Olson, Karen McCabe & Mary Shottenkirk each a testament to the love and care she shared with those closest to her.

As we bid farewell, let us remember not only the profound loss we feel but also the gratitude for having been touched by such an extraordinary soul.  Rest peacefully now, dear Judi - your legacy will live on eternally in the hearts of those who knew you best.

Preceded in death by her parents Myron and Loretta Klimek and son Baby Boy Olson. There will be a Celebration of Life on April 14th from 1:30 to 4:30 at the Alexandria VFW.
