Jason “Jay” Lawrence Gylsen, age 43, of Sauk Rapids and formerly of Alexandria, MN, died at his home unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
Jay was born February 2nd, 1979, in Anchorage, Alaska. He is the son of Gary Gylsen and Susan Anderson. They moved to Alexandria, MN when Jason and Bobby (his brother) were young kids. He worked at Doege Precision Machining as the third shift leadman and continued manufacturing in St. Cloud/Sauk Rapids when he moved away from Alexandria.
He was the most proud of his children and loved all of his family and friends dearly. As we all know, he had the biggest heart.
Hunting and fishing, along with anything else outdoors, was a huge part of Jason’s life. Alaska was his happy place and he loved when he could get back there to visit.
We all know him as the man who would give the shirt off his back to make sure someone else was taken care of and putting others first.
He is survived by his parents, Gary Gylsen and Susan Anderson; stepdaughter, Darrian Hahn; sons, Robb Gylsen and Jayden Gylsen; and many aunts; uncles; cousins; and grandparents.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Gylsen; stepdad, Steven Anderson; grandparents, Lawrence and Doris Gylsen; and uncle, Wayne Gylsen.
