rural Kensington

James Hohn was born on February 15, 1957, in Starbuck, MN the son of Lester and Shirley (Maxine) Hohn. At a young age the family moved to Maxine’s family farm in rural Kensington. James attended grade and high school in Kensington graduating in 1975. During his schooling years he helped on the family farm and later took it over farming the land and doing feeder cattle for several years.

James loved farming he talked, lived, and breathed farming. He was always the first one in the field and the first one out. He also took classes regarding the use of chemicals and always wanted the best product for a good harvest and what was good for his land. James was also a part of a bowling league where he met many good friends.

In 1986 he met Romelle Anderson the couple enjoyed fishing together, going on several trips especially after James retired. James and Romelle looked forward to attending his great nephew’s baseball games. He was proud of his family. He especially appreciated the help his nephew, Christopher gave him over the years.

James will be remembered as a “Unique Man” whether it was his personality or with his health conditions — he was special. He was a kind caring person who always looked out for the younger farmers getting started.
