Howard Dale Hanson

Howard Dale Hanson was born to Conrad & Leila November 16th, 1948. He married Ardelle Peterson on June 10th,1972 and they settled in Moe Township soon after. He has worn many hats, figuratively and literally, throughout the years but the hat worn most proudly was that of being the patriarch of His family. Their union brought forth Chris and Karen who gave him his favorite people, his grandkids.

Howard retired from Hubbard Milling after 37 years of service. Prior to that he built a multitude of pole sheds with his brother Dwayne of which we have heard many humorous stories. He shared his love for snowmobiling by being a safety instructor and his love for hunting by, ironically enough instructing firearm safety.

Howard discovered the love of travel through Ardelle and always had the itch to see something new. They enjoyed taking others on adventures with them to share their joy of these experiences.

He was the founding member of the Hanson Hunting Group, Chairman of the Hanson Campout, and CEO of the Wednesday Morning Men’s Coffee Group. He loved to be in charge.

His hobbies included hunting ANYTHING, fishing EVERYTHING, and tinkering in the shop creating oddities. You name it, he did it… expect dishes. His shop was always open for friends and family to stop by for impromptu visits and happy hour. He once said the best advice he could give anyone is “Unload”

The memory of him and multiple humorous stories will forever live on with his family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 10:00 - 11:00 AM at West Moe Church with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at West Moe Cemetery.
