Helen (Meints) Roos was born August 13, 1922, to Fred and Emma (Sahn) Meints in Luverne, MN.
She spent her childhood and early adulthood in the Luverne area on the family farm. Helen married the love of her life, Bartel Roos on February 26, 1943. To this union, two sons were born, Jerry and Arlen, which were their pride and joy. In 1956 the family moved to Cambridge, MN where they farmed. Helen was an immaculate housekeeper, loved to paint, sew, organize, mow lawn, square dance, and travel with Bartel.
Helen worked for several businesses in the area; waitressing, and at the control data assembling businesses on computers in the late 60's and 70's; then later bookkeeping for various businesses. After retirement, Helen and Bartel moved to Sauk Rapids in 1988, wanting to live closer to Arlen's family. Bartel passed away in 2003 after 60 years of marriage.
Helen moved to Alexandria in 2019 to live at Bethany on the Lake. She received good care and grew close to staff. She appreciated living close to her immediate family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Emma, Gladys, Henry, John, and Eddie; son, Arlen; and granddaughter, Amanda Roos. She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Sally Roos of Alexandria and Kim Roos of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Randy Roos of Osakis, Tracy (John) Stigman of Osakis, Sarah (Derek) Marxhausen of Princeton, and Justin Hill of Remer; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany on the Lake, Pastor Scott Keehn, and Pastor Gregg Donnelly.
In lieu of flowers Helen and her family prefer a donation be made to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research.
Burial for Helen will take place 11 AM on October 16, 2025, at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud, MN. May Helen Rest in Peace.
