Gladys Sund

Gladys Olga Lund was born on April 15, 1920 to Andrew and Lydia (Hoff) Lund. Their only child, Gladys grew up in southeast Minneapolis and graduated from Marshall High School. Prior to her marriage she worked for Northrup King and Minnegasco. She married Russell Sund on September 3, 1960 in Minneapolis where the couple continued to reside. To this union one daughter, Susan (Sue), was born.

In 1989 Gladys and Russell moved to beautiful Lake Osakis. Her faith was important to her. She enjoyed attending church and Bible studies. Pastimes included gardening and reading.  She later moved to Knute Nelson in Alexandria where she appreciated the programs for the residents and gifts of chocolate.

On August 30, 2019, Gladys passed away at Knute Nelson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Lydia; and her husband, Russell Sund.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Sue (Brian) Cornish of Eden Prairie and grandchildren, Jenna, Amy (Andrew) Beymer and Faith Cornish.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 3 PM at St. Paul’s Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
