Frances B. Didier

Frances “Fran” B. (Kauffmann) Didier joined the Lord on Sunday, December 10^th, 2023, at the age of 65.

Fran was born & raised in Minneapolis on October 4^th, 1958, to Marinus & Maurea (Pearce) Kauffmann. She grew up with her two sisters, Rita and Teresa. In 1976, Fran moved to Alexandria and attended Alex Tech. On February 14^th, 1987, Fran was united in marriage to Mark Didier at St. Mary’s Church. They had two children, Nathan and Laura.

Over the years, Fran made many friends and worked a variety of jobs including Juno Tool and Plastics, Cleaning, Eco Bakken, Time Square, Caribou Coffee & JoAnn Fabrics. If you went into JoAnn’s in the past decade, you could typically find Fran if you listened for her laugh.

While the kids were young, Fran volunteered at St. Mary’s Church during Monday night Religious Education, helping with the crafts. Even during recent years, she was approached by now adults that recognized her in public and they would say “Hey, you’re the craft lady!”  She also Volunteered with Cub Scouts with Nathan and Girl Scouts with Laura.

Fran enjoyed tearing up the dance floor with her Mark as well as the grandkids that would join her at the local courthouse dances or the VFW. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning and making jelly to share with others as well as making holiday goodie trays.

In the last year, Fran was fortunate enough to travel to Mississippi, Alabama and South Dakota to visit family.

Most of all, Fran loved spending time with her grandchildren. She attended music programs, school functions, and sporting events. The grandkids enjoyed making crafts and learning to sew with grandma.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Teresa, Mother and Father in-law Al & Julia Didier, sisters-in-law; Jan Didier, Rita Didier, Patricia Didier, brother-in-law; Roger Bosman, Eric Rivers, Donald Didier, Robert Didier.

Here to share her memories are her husband Mark Didier of Alexandria. Their son, Nathan Didier of Alexandria and grandkids Sadie Tolifson, Maxwell Didier, Matilda Didier. Their daughter, Laura (Christopher) Zenner of Hoffman, MN and grandkids, Maurea Didier and Claire Zenner. Also survived by her sister Rita Rivers, in-laws Karen (Maury) Mallin, Mike Didier, and Jerome Didier. Also, her many nieces and nephews.

Fran held a special place in her heart for Christina Golding, Valorie Williams, and Jeanne Hammer as well as many good friends.
