Florence Stanz

Florence Stanz was born September 14, 1925, to her parents August and Minnie (Zuehlsdorf) Kraemer near Redwood Falls, MN and passed away January 16, 2026, at 100 years old.

Florence was their fourth child following brothers Clarence and Victor, and sister, Myrtle. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1943 and worked for her dad's oil business as a bookkeeper. As the youngest daughter in her family, she helped care for her nieces and nephews who have remained special to her to this day.

Her father and uncle built cabins on Little Darling in Alexandria where she met her future husband, Carl Stanz. They were united in marriage on May 31, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. They began their family as daughter Connie was born, then John, Gary, and Becky. They all so enjoyed their lake years hosting large summer gatherings of family and friends with lots of volleyball, swimming, fishing, dart ball, cards and always singing. Zion Lutheran was their church home and together volunteered and served in many church activities. Florence also worked with Mrs. Martinson's daycare for a time, followed by becoming a valuable secretary to the guidance counselors at Central Junior High School for many years.

She was able to enjoy a very special celebration of her 100th birthday with many family members and friends.

Florence is survived by her children Connie; John (Tammy); Gary (Vicki); and Becky (Steve) who loved their wonderful mother. Also surviving are grandchildren Christa (Joe), Maggie (Brian), Annie, Josh (Tracy), Rob (Laura), Abby (Matt), Adam, and twelve great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl, and his parents; her brothers Clarence and Victor, sister Myrtle, brothers in law Louie, Harold, Ray, Arthur and infant baby Stanz, sister in laws Marion, Elverta, Jenny, Norma; son in law Steve, nephews Bruce and Paul, niece Karen, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Florence Stanz of Alexandria, MN, died on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her home in Nelson Gables at the age of 100 years old.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN with Pastor Hayden Brown officiating.

A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Kinkead Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory of Alexandria, Minnesota.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran School.
