It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Faye Lynn Fuoss, who died peacefully on July 31, 2026, at the Evansville Care Campus, at the age of 76. Born on August 18, 1949, in Wheaton, MN, Faye was the daughter of Otto and Pearl (Young) Vogel.
Faye spent her early years in Wheaton where she attended District Grade School #46 and later earned her GED. Faye met the love of her life, Eugene Fuoss. They married on September 25, 1965, and to this union two children, Daniel and Barbara were born. Faye's straightforward approach to life taught her family the value of honesty and love, traits that she instilled in them every day.
For 36 years, Faye dedicated herself to the Douglas County Hospital, working in the purchase and receiving department before she retired. Faye loved camping, bowling, fishing, and playing softball. Many weekends were spent cheering on her Husband Gene and Lloyd Hudson at the stock car races and later her son Daniel. Her enthusiasm for NASCAR was undeniable. A talented cook, she found joy in preparing meals for her family and was particularly devoted to her beautiful vegetable garden and flower garden, where she tended to a variety of flowers. Faye also cherished many years with her significant other Roger Josephson.
Faye's legacy was built upon her faith and community involvement. As a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City, she actively contributed as a Sunday School teacher and helped with the Ladies Aid for many years.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her son, Daniel (Toni) Fuoss of Farwell; her daughter, Barbara (Danny) Shamp of Clarissa; grandchildren Bradley Fuoss, Clay Fuoss (CeCe Kley), Kayla (Bo) Pierce, Randy (Elizabeth) Shamp, Amber Shamp, Ty (Kayla Ring) Fuoss, Isaac Fuoss; great-grandchildren Dustin Pierce, Dillon Pierce, Austin Shamp, Piston Shamp Kenai Fuoss, Haylie Shamp; and her brother, Robert Vogel. Faye also leaves behind Dawn (Paul Rykhus) Josephson and Wendy (Rick) Hauer and their four grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Pearl Vogel, Husband Eugene (Gene) Fuoss, brothers, Les Vogel and Russell Vogel, and her sister Sharon Sheldon and significant other, Roger Josephson,
Faye Lynn Fuoss may have left this world, but her spirit, kindness, and love will continue to shine through the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be missed dearly.
