Emily Mary was born on December 19, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Vacek) Chermak. She was born in Pope County, Ben Wade Township on the family farm homesteaded by her grandparents in the 1800’s, where her father was also born. Emily was baptized at St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lake Reno Township. She attended Pocket Lake Country School through the 8th grade and was a member of 4-H.
Emily was united in marriage to Albin Trousil at St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church. After their marriage to the couple moved onto Albin's family farm where they farmed all their married life. To this union five children were born.
She was President of the Ladies Guild at St. John's and also the quilting group at church. Her faith was very important to her and instilled her faith into her children.
Emily enjoyed playing cards, bingo, making Kolaches and Pumi. At the age of 78 she moved to Alexandria apartments where she lived until the age of 99.
Mrs. Trousil died on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 105, at Bethany Home under the care of Moments Hospice. She is survived by her children: Maynard (Deanne), Marlene Dynda, Robert (Kathy), Peter (Julie); 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sister, Charlotte Seaman; sister-in-law, Alice Roisum.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albin (1996); daughter, Dorothy (1987); grandchildren: Brian (1973), Bill (2010), Michael (2022); granddaughter-in-law, Linda; brothers: Walter, Robert (Lorraine), Edward; sister, Lucille (Leonard) Craig.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Parish Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Emily’s family would like to thank the Staff of Bethany, Moments Hospice, Knights of Columbus and all of her younger friends.
