Elenora Vivian Eddy

Elenora Vivian (Sather) Eddy, age 96, of Nelson, passed away on August 19, 2025, at Knute Nelson Care Center.

She was born on March 18, 1929, to Lloyd Elmer and Ada Myrtle Sather. Elenora graduated from the West Central School of Agriculture with her high school diploma. On October 30, 1946, she married Marvin Eugene Eddy, with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage until his passing on June 3, 2017.

Elenora worked for many years as the lead cook at Lutheran Senior Services, where her dedication and warmth were appreciated by both colleagues and residents. She was a lifelong member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Nelson, where her faith was an important part of her life.

She cherished her time with family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved bird watching, taking care of her flowers at the farm, reading books, working on crossword puzzles, and watching game shows—especially The Price is Right. Most of all, she treasured being surrounded by family and friends at the farm. Known for her hardworking nature, her tidy ways, and her love of cookies, Elenora will be remembered for the warmth and love she shared throughout her life.

She is survived by her children: Nancy (Ed) Skurka, Michael (Kathryn) Eddy, and Lynnette (Donald) Bauers; her grandchildren: Missy Ann Roske, Michelle Eddy, Mindy Discher, Sheila Skurka, Kraig Bauers, and Kailey Bauers; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her son, Dennis Eddy; and her parents, Lloyd and Ada Sather.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Nelson, MN, with Pastor Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Nelson Cemetery.

Elenora’s family and friends will remember her for her faith, her love of nature, and her devotion to her loved ones.
