Elaine Marion Schrage

Elaine M. Schrage was born on October 15, 1923, to Charley and Alma Johnson in Kenmare, North Dakota.  She attended country school through the sixth grade until her parents moved to Bigfork, Minnesota where she graduated from high school in 1942. 

Elaine was a Linotype operator for newspapers in Bigfork and Anoka, Minnesota until she married August Schrage in 1965.  The couple owned a hog farm near Elk River, Minnesota.  After her husband died she moved to Alexandria, Minnesota in 1980 where she did day care in people’s homes for 19 years. 

Elaine died on Sunday, April 30, 2023.  She is survived by her step-children: Rachel Jennings; Roger (Esther) Schrage; grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, sisters: Alice & Betty; brother, Gordon.
