Edmund "Eddie" B. Petermeier

Edmund "Eddie" B. Petermeier passed away on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, surrounded by his family at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. He was 90 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19th, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, MN. There will not be a visitation prior to the service. Burial and Military Honors will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to CentraCare Hospice and can be given to the family.

Edmund Bernard Petermeier was born September 12, 1935, in Melrose, Minnesota to Ignatuis and Caroline (Uhlenkamp) Petermeier. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Klaphake on June 20, 1959, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis, Minnesota.

Eddie was an expert transportation delivery technician (truck driver), working for Frank Meyer, Gebeke Trucking, Standard Oil and Kane Transportation. Eddie drove millions of miles and received many safety awards.

Eddie was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition, he enjoyed helping at the Food Shelf.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy; children, Linda (Donald) John of Sauk Centre, MN, Gary Petermeier of Maple Grove, MN, Lisa (Dale) Poepping of Sauk Centre, MN, Greg (Pam) Petermeier of Sauk Centre, MN; brother, Roman (Tillie) Petermeier of Sauk Centre, MN; and 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Ignatuis and Caroline Petermeier; brother and sisters-in-law, Tony and Ella Petermeier, Al and Evie Petermeier; sister and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Henry Jansen, Florentine and Leonard Schmeising, and Erma and Elmer Kettler; as well as 1 great-grandchild.
