Alexandria

In Loving Memory

5/16/1998- 1/20/2026

An Outstanding Son, Fantastic Brother, and Terrific Father; Denver Ray Feeken was born on May 16, 1998, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota. He was raised by his loving parents, Lance and Amy Feeken. The family lived in Alexandria for a few years, during which time he attended Head Start preschool and Kindergarten at Washington Elementary. In 2003, the Feeken family moved to Glenwood, MN, where Denver was involved in Cub Scouts and grew up playing baseball, football, wrestling, and swimming at Minnewaska Beach with friends, siblings, and cousins. He enjoyed spending time with his brother, sister, and three cousins, who were more like siblings. The six of them were always together growing up – nearly inseparable. They all shared a very special bond. Denver enjoyed his whole family, mostly by always picking on or razzing them, then he would laugh or giggle with a glint in his eyes. From an infant on, he was always climbing on anything, jumping and falling, whether he was hurt or not, that never stopped him from doing it again. As he grew, so did Mom, holding her breath, and Dad would say he would be fine, as he was climbing furniture, then went to Tree climbing, stunt bike riding for fun, four-wheeling, go-karts at home, or skateboarding to par core, and so much more with his siblings Dalton and Michaela. Denver was always a heart-on-his-sleeve, committed, protective, yet take-no-crap kind of person, but could also be very stubborn. We always figured it fit since he was a Taurus.

Denver also enjoyed deer hunting with his dad, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Vacations were also a special time with family, whether it was visiting extended family in Montana and Florida or going on camping trips. He enjoyed canoeing, running in the woods, being mad about the bugs, and goofing off with Marti and Okerlund kids. Denver's one issue growing up was getting dirty; he would change his clothes even if he got sprayed with water because now, he was dirty, which made camping interesting. These were cherished times, even though Denver would never admit it when he was young.

Denver attended school in Glenwood, where he made lifelong friends. He graduated from MAHS in 2017. From a young age, Denver had a love of cooking, a dream that he followed for many years after graduation. Cooking at restaurants around Glenwood and Alexandria, which included Lakeside Ballroom, Penny’s Diner, Travelers Inn, and his two favorite places, DMichael B’s and Fat Daddy's. He made many friends and memories while working at these restaurants. It seemed like everywhere he worked and everyone he met, he left an impression. That was the special type of person he was, “Loved by All”.

At the age of 23, Denver got news that would change him forever – he was going to be a father with their mother, Monica Woods. From this day on, Denver lived for his two children. They were his whole life. He cherished every single minute he had with them. He enjoyed taking them to parks, hanging out with them, snuggling, bringing them down to Grandma and Grandpa’s, where he grew up, and teaching them things he learned from his Grandma Debbie and Mom, which was tickle torture, as he said I am just paying it forward, Mom! It didn’t matter what they were doing as long as he was with them. Every day spent with them was special to Denver.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the age of 27, Denver was tragically taken from us way too soon. He is survived by his two children: Kaia (3), & Levi (21 mo.) Feeken; parents: Lance & Amy Feeken of Glenwood; brother, Dalton (Karly) Feeken of Lowry, sister, Michaela Feeken of Alexandria, niece, Braelynn Sievert, nephews, Rowan & Michael Feeken; cousins: Haley (Colton) Fike of Kensington, Shelby Feeken of Alexandria, Gage Feeken of Minneapolis, Aunts & Uncles: Jason and Nicole Feeken of Garfield, Derrick Jung of Alexandria, Diane (Jay) Pantze of Alexandria, many more Great-Aunt’s and Uncles and many second cousins.

Denver is preceded in death by his grandparents: Debbie Jung, Terry Jung, Larry Feeken, and Lauren Feeken, all from Alexandria. Great-grandparents Jack and Netty Feeken, Frank and Mary Swenson, Kevin and Marcella Jung, Eldonna Genrich, and many great-aunts and uncles.
