David A. Navratil, beloved son, father, brother, and cherished friend, passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on June 23, 1949, in Alexandria, Minnesota, David lived a life marked by exploration, love for nature, and a deep commitment to his family and community.

He moved to California at age 16 to pursue his education and graduated high school there before returning to Minnesota several years later. A proud machinist, David then dedicated 36 years of his professional life to Brenton Manufacturing, where his craftsmanship and expertise contributed significantly to the company’s success. Beyond his work as a machinist, he was a member of the ski patrol at Andes Hills for approximately 15 years, embodying a spirit of service and dedication to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

David's love for the outdoors was unparalleled. An avid outdoorsman, he relished every opportunity to immerse himself in the beauty of Minnesota's landscapes. Hunting, fishing, and camping were not merely hobbies; they were passions that defined him. The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness held a special place in his heart, where he often ventured to spend time in nature, cherishing the adventure that the wilderness provided..

David is survived by his son, Derek (Isabelle) Navratil; and his brother, Philip (Michelle) Navratil. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret, his daughter, Colene Wenzel, and his brothers, Paul and Richard.

David's explorative spirit and fondness for the natural world will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched with his kindness, passion, and love for the great outdoors.
