Dan Ross

August 12, 1956 — September 9, 2022

of Glenwood

Dan was born on August 12, 1956, in Madison, Minnesota.  He was the son of Robert and Ruth (Schmidt) Ross.  He grew up in Marietta, Minnesota where he attended school and loved playing basketball.  Dan graduated from High School in 1974 in Marietta.

Dan was united in marriage to Teresa (Olson) Barsness on March 27, 1993, in Alexandria, MN.  From this union he gained two daughters who he took in as his own. He worked road construction for various companies for over 30 years as a foreman and was a very dedicated and hard worker.  Throughout his life Dan enjoyed deer hunting and farming whenever he could back on the farm in Marietta.  He also loved spending the winters ice fishing on Lake Minnewaska catching sunfish and crappies.  Dan loved to grill and was known as the "Grillmaster", best known for ribs.

Dan was always quick to joke and make light of things and had a story for everything generally about how things were back in the day.  He loved spending time with family and friends every chance he could and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; daughters: Shanna (Todd) Elwood, Tawnya (Jeremy) Kellen; four grandchildren: Brendyn & Ali Femrite, Brody & Payton Kellen; sister, Jeanne Sorensen; nephews: Colby (Amy) Sorensen, Ross Sorensen, Justin Ross; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Ross, brother Jeff Ross and sister-in-law Judy Ross.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
