A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be later that day at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to her family.

Carol was born on January 7th, 1943, in Alexandria, MN to Raymond and Marcella Severson. She grew up in Carlos attending Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria. She graduated in 1961. She furthered her education by attending business college in Minneapolis. After business school she returned to Carlos and began her work at Beheng Imp. She spent her life deeply rooted in family, faith, hard work, and service to others.

She married the love of her life, George Schlosser, on April 22nd, 1967. Together they built a life filled with adventure, travel, farming and countless memories. George and Carol traveled and camped all over the United States. Following George's passing in 2002, Carol carried those memories close to her heart and shared stories of their adventures with family and friends for years to come.

Many people knew Carol through Beheng Implement, where she was the heart and soul of the operation. She possessed an incredible knowledge of parts and inventory and could often locate exactly what a customer needed after a quick search through a parts book and a trip to the back room. To many, she was as much a fixture and the glue of the business, as the building itself.

Carol's greatest joy was her family. She lovingly embraced her step-son, granddaughters, great grandson, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews as if they were her own. She celebrated milestones with thoughtful Hallmark cards, carefully chosen Christmas ornaments, and treasured Precious Moments figurines that became lasting reminders of her love.

She was known for her generous spirit and countless acts of kindness. An accomplished baker and gardener, Carol rarely kept her talents to herself. Family members enjoyed her baked goods, vegetables from her garden, and many cherished family recipes. She found joy in caring for others, often preparing and freezing garden vegetables so family members could enjoy them throughout the year.

Carol was also the family's historian and memory keeper. She preserved newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, photographs, family stories, and ancestry records, ensuring future generations would know where they came from and the people who came before them. She recorded games on cassette tapes, labeled treasured family heirlooms, and carefully documented family history so those memories would never be lost.

She enjoyed gathering for coffee and conversation at the shop, where stories, laughter, community news, and plenty of "village wisdom" were shared among friends and neighbors. She was a staple to the Carlos community; she was a part of planning for many Carlos Days, Santa Days and other events throughout the years.

Even as her health declined in recent years, Carol maintained her remarkable memory, her love of memory sharing, and her deep connection to family.

She will be remembered for her quiet acts of love, her generosity, her faithfulness to family traditions, and her unwavering commitment to preserving the memories that connect generations.

Carol is survived by her brothers, Rick (Roxann) Severson and Curt (Diane) Severson; nephews, Ryan Severson, Chris Severson, and Craig Severson (Rachel Erie); nieces, Raquel Severson, Ronna (Matthew) Berghoff, Jamie (Greg Christopher) Nelson, and Brittany (Breanna) Nelson; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jersey, Jenner, Jase, Sami, Antti, Adelade, Cain, Sonnie, Breya (Ryan), Stephen, Ryder and Alena; and all her family in Montana that love her: Stepson, Roger Schlosser (Elaine Iverson); Granddaughters, Kirsten (JT) Smith and Jacey (Andy) Watson; Great-Grandson, Gunnar Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Raymond and Marcella Severson; and dear cousins and friends Bonnie Wharton Schuller, JoAnn Wheeler Dauner, Judith Wheeler Longfellow and Sharon Illetschko.

As written in 1 John 3:18, "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." Carol lived those words every day, showing her love through countless quiet acts of kindness that will continue to be remembered by all who knew her.
