Carol Lou Ann Soderholm Fiebelkorn - Domke
She lived well and left us peacefully on Monday, Dec 12th, 2022 surrounded by her four children. Born May 11th, 1934 in Douglas County, She grew up on a dairy farm on Red Rock Lake, Minnesota. Carol married Harold Fiebelkorn on July 21, 1953 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN. They began their union on a farm in rural Hoffman, milking cows without running water and raising their four children. They later moved to the outskirts of town and began The Hoffman Truck Line. Never one to be idle, Carol was also an office assistant and manager, a bookkeeper, worked for the local high school, she started her own drapery business and even sold Aflac Insurance. When Harold was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers, Carol devoted her life to caring for her husband.
Carol was a beautiful woman and was lovingly given the name “Foxy Grandma” by her grandchildren. Her spirit will last through her four children, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed talking about them to anyone who would listen. Food was her love language and feeding people was a constant in her life. A combination between Julia Childs and Martha Stewart, you could always find Carol in the kitchen or hosting parties and elegant holiday meals for family and friends.
She was an avid watcher of sports on TV, especially football. She took in her annual Gopher Game this past fall where the gophers crushed the opposing team 49-7. Carol loved to play games, specifically poker & gin with her family. She was also a devoted bridge player and prided herself on winning the weekly games at Grand Arbor.
She always took a special interest in what was important to those in her life, whether it be their sports, art activities or whatever they happened to be passionate about. Her greatest gift to her family and friends was her willingness to help with anything and everything. Her love for helping others will forever be felt by family and friends alike. Decorating for Christmas was a true joy for her and the day before she passed she had done just that in her home. Carol was a strong woman of faith, who knew God and found peace knowing Heaven's embrace.
Those who will cherish her memory and miss her so are her children; David and Becky, Susan, Mike and Linda, Kent, Kimberly & her grandchildren; Erin, Katie, Jillian, Anna, Adam, Sarah, Karl, Beth, Kyle, Annabelle, Sofie, and Lola, her brother, John and Sue Soderholm, Donna Soderholm, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Waiting for her in heaven: Parents, Luella Annabelle and Harvey Soderholm, Brother Rollin, Brother Doug, Mark Soderholm, Jay Soderholm, Kay Fiebelkorn, and husbands, Harold Fiebelkorn, Bill Domke.
