Betty G. Whitman

Betty G. Whitman (Yttredahl) age 66 of Kensington MN passed away at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND June 22, 2026 in Fargo North Dakota.

She was born November 5, 1959 to Doris Blair and William Ytrredahl in North Dakota. Her family relocated to Minnesota during her childhood and eventually settled in Alexandria, MN where she later attended Alexandria Technical College.

She was united in marriage to David R. Whitman April 23, 1983. Together they raised two children, Trista and Travis.

Betty was a woman of many talents, with careers in auto detailing, home health care, and most recently animal welfare with the Lakes Area Humane Society. She was a great homemaker with a love for animals and nature. Her caring, compassionate nature will be surely missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, father in law Ray Whitman, sister Linda Matuska, and brother Doren Yttredahl.

She is survived by her children, husband, grandchildren Devin and Rayna Klecan, along with sisters Denise Young, Delores Fritsch, and brother Wilmer Yttredahl plus several nieces, nephews, and in laws.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lakes Area Humane Society of Alexandria MN. 

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, MN.
