Beatrice Elizabeth Morrison

October 11, 1929 — April 12, 2026

Alexandria, MN

Beatrice Elizabeth Morrison, affectionately known as Bea, passed away on April 12, 2026, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, dedication, and enthusiasm for life. Born on October 11, 1929, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Bea lived a full and inspiring life marked by her commitment to her family, her community, and her passions.

Bea’s early years included her education at St. Cloud Cathedral followed by earning a one-year Associate’s degree from business college, laying a strong foundation for her professional journey. She devoted many years to serving as a special education administrative assistant at Alexandria Schools, where her organizational skills, persistence, and determination were apparent to all who worked with her. Bea often reflected on the dawn of the computer age with a thought that she might have liked to return to school to learn more about this exciting new technology.

In 1949, Bea met Vernon Clair Morrison, and their love grew quickly, culminating in their marriage on February 25, 1950, in St. Cloud. Together, Bea and Clair shared a life filled with travel and adventure, including traveling to all 50 states and taking over 25 cruises exploring much of the world. Winter months found them in Fort Myers, Florida, for more than thirty years, where their home was a warm gathering place for family, who loved joining them to enjoy time on the beach.

Beyond her career and travels, Bea was an important member of her community. She was a dedicated P.E.O. member and active in the First Congregational Church in Alexandria for many years. Her hobbies illustrated a lively spirit, she loved playing bridge with friends, following Alexandria High School sports teams, and was even waterskiing well into her 60’s!

Bea’s character shone brightly in everything she pursued. Organized to the core, persistent, and determined, when Bea set her mind on a goal, it was always her top priority. These qualities not only defined her professional life but also enriched her relationships and the many activities she loved.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Mary (Alan) Hanson and Jeanne Monich; grandchildren, Thomas Hanson, Katie Hanson, Adam Monich, and Matthew Monich; and her great-grandchild, Archer Monich. Bea’s sisters, Florence Holzknecht and Carol Sheridan, along with many dear and special friends, especially the Gene Bak family, who held a special place in her heart.

Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Clair Morrison; her parents, Aloys and Eleanor Koshiol; brothers, Melvin and David Koshiol; and son-in-law, Allan Monich.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 659 Voyager Drive NW, Alexandria, MN 56308. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place on the same day at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
