Audrey Honebrink

Audrey Lou (Grunklee) Honebrink was born January 3, 1931, in Hardwick, MN to Ervin and Ella (Ahrendt) Grunklee.  She attended elementary school in Hardwick and the family moved to Delano when she was a teenager, where she graduated Delano High School.

Audrey was united in marriage to LeRoy Honebrink on July 11, 1953, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Delano.  The couple was blessed with two sons, David and Dean.  The couple farmed and enjoyed spending weekends at their cabin on Lake Ida.  When they retired in 1987, the couple moved to Alexandria and bought a home on Lake Brophy.

Audrey loved to bake and cook, garden flowers and vegetables, embroidery, fishing and going for pontoon rides.  She enjoyed belonging to the women’s group at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield.

Audrey died on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria at the age of 91.  She is survived by sons, David Honebrink of Alexandria and Dean (Janice) Honebrink of Brandon; three grandchildren, Derek, Peggy and Jared Honebrink; sisters-in-law, Glorianne Grunklee of Boulder, CO, and Florence Boll of Naples, FL; and nieces and nephews.  Audrey is preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Ella; brothers, Eugene and George Grunklee; and brother-in-law, Curtis Honebrink.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield with Reverend Jeffrey Ross officiating.  Interment was held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Garfield.
