Alice Jean Marie Quernemoen, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 14, 2025, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria, MN, at the age of 98.
Born on September 19, 1927, on a farm in Salem Township near Kensington, MN, Alice was a lifelong resident of Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Kensington Lutheran Church and graduated from Kensington High School in 1945, marking the beginning of a life full of love, kindness, and dedication. On September 25, 1948, Alice joined her life with Raymond Quernemoen in marriage, a union filled with love and cherished memories. They created a beautiful family that brought Alice immense joy. Alice's heart filled with love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. Her handmade afghans, lovingly crafted for each of her children and grandchildren, will forever be treasured family heirlooms. Alice devoted many years to caring for others, working as a certified nurse’s aide at Knute Nelson, Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, and spending 23 years at Douglas County Hospital. Her passion for helping others extended to 14 years as a home health care aide, retiring at the remarkable age of 80. Her nurturing spirit was a source of comfort and strength for those around her. Beyond her career, Alice's enjoyed many hobbies, which include; sewing, crocheting, gardening, and baking delicious treats. Known for her kindness, Alice was the glue that held her family together, always eager to listen and offer gentle advice. A fond memory of Alice was her loved of Vitamins, Wheel of Fortune, and Puzzles.
Alice Jean Marie Quernemoen will be remembered for her big heart, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, and her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished. Rest in peace.
Alice was preceded in death by her newborn son, Alan Quernemoen, her husband, Raymond Quernemoen; daughter, Judy Pinnt; grandson, Jason Henningsgaard, her parents, John and Walda (Nelson) Anderson, brothers, Elner Anderson, Alfred Anderson and Alden Anderson; sisters Vernice Lillboe and Genevieve Gardner.
She is survived by her children, son, Loren (Deborah) Quernemoen, three daughters, Shirley (Mark) Larson, Sharon Quernemoen, and Bonnie (Roger) Larson; grandchildren, Ryan (Annie) Larson, Heidi (Donavin) Schmitt, Gabriel Henningsgaard, Jessie Henningsgaard, Sara Torrence, Michael Quellier, and Jacqueline (Mark) Erickson, Matthew Pinnt, Katie (Dale) Frandrup; and Alan Pinnt, great grandchildren, Taylor Larson, Trevor Larson, Veronica Schmitt, Audrey Schmitt, Evy Torrence, Oliver Torrence, Frankie Torrence, Landon Henningsgaard, Axle Henningsgaard, Finnegan Henningsgaard, Carter Erickson, Gavin Erickson, and Collin Pinnt.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria with the Reverend Megan Preston officiating.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket Bearers will be Landon Henningsgaard, Gavin Erickson, Carter Erickson, Trevor Larson, Matthew Pinnt, and Alan Pinnt.
