Adeline Hanson was born on March 24, 1922 to Frank and Anne (Prchal) Kvitek. She lived with her parents on a farm near Holmes City and later moved to a farm North of Lowry. She entered the Reno School through the 6th grade and then moved to a place South of Brandon where she graduated from District 44. That Fall she attended Brandon High School and graduated in 1941. During this time she worked as a waitress at a local Café.
After graduation Adeline moved to Alexandria where she worked at Cliff’s Café. It was here that she met the love of her life, Hans. Adeline and Hans were married on September 22, 1942. The couple made their home in Montgomery, Alabama where he was stationed in the Air Force, later moving to Molden, Missouri. She came home to be with her parents when he was sent overseas to Japan. In 1946, after the war they moved to Alexandria, where they raised their two children.
After their children were married they sold their home and moved South of Brandon on a 40 acre farm. It was here they joined West Moe Church where she became a Life Member of the E.L.C.W. As a Stewardship Secretary she enjoyed putting quilts and afghans together and gave them to people in need which included hospitals, social service and church.
The couple decided to sell their home when Hans health started to fail and moved to Brandon Manor Home. After 5 years her husband passed away and she moved to Winona Shores Apartments.
Adeline loved to bake, making cookies, Kolaches for her family. She also crocheted, knit and volunteered. Throughout her life she cared for her family which was most important to her.
Adeline died on Friday, November 21, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Anderson; son, Ronald (Gayene) and 4 grandchildren: Kevin (Debra) Anderson, Stacy Anderson, Mary Hanson, Jenny (Kyle) Raguse; great grandchildren: Elyse, Cade, Bradley, Lauren, Briona, Jakob, Alexandra; brother, Norman (Audriene) Kvitek; sister, Geneva Roers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans; parents, Frank & Anne; brother, Larry.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at West Moe Lutheran Church in Moe Township with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at West Moe Cemetery.
