Mark Allen Borchert was born April 28, 1954 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Alexandria, MN, the son of Donald and Myrdene (Froemming) Borchert. Mark was raised in Alexandria where he attended school.
On May 1, 1971 Mark was severely injured in an accident at Carlos Corners prior to the lights being installed. Mark worked hard to overcome his injuries. He graduated with the Class of 1972 from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. In 1987, Mark moved to Mesa, AZ to get away from the cold winters. He worked at yard maintenance in Arizona.
Mark’s favorite thing to do was going to Gabby’s where he sat with the truckers, and other guys, who gathered early each morning for coffee. He liked to pick up a newspaper and keep up with the news. Mark also watched the Weather Channel and never hesitated to call home to announce it is snowing again in Minnesota.
Mark died July 2, 2015 in Mesa at the age of sixty-one years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald. Mark is survived by his mother, Myrdene Borchert of Alexandria; brothers, Daniel Borchert of Miltona, MN and Steve Borchert and wife, Jean, of Alexandria; and nieces, Kelly of Williston, ND and Carrie of Milton.
