Earl Leroy Seaburg Jr., the son of Earl Sr. and Dewella (Bruns) Seaburg, was born on January 9, 1921 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He grew up in Ottumwa, IA where he graduated from high school.
He moved to California to live and work with his grandfather. Earl soon met the love of his life, Maxine Withers and he knew she was the one he was going to marry. Earl and Maxine drove to Lancaster, MO and got married on November 12, 1941.
Together they made their home in Hollywood, CA where Earl worked for Lockheed Aircraft. In 1942, after being blessed with their daughter Betsy, Earl enlisted in the navy where he was stationed in Guam.
After Earl's time in the Navy, he joined his family in Des Moines and began working for Northwestern Bell. Earl retired after 35 years and moved to the family home on Smith Lake, near Osakis, MN in 1976. He and Maxine had spent summers on Smith Lake for many years prior to buying land on the north shore and building their dream home. It was always a welcoming place for family, friends and neighbors to gather. Seaburg road became notorious for happy hours on Smith Lake. Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he especially enjoyed his work as a taxidermist. Earl's sense of humor and great wit will be missed by all who knew him.
