Christine Ramsay

April 5, 1955 — January 23, 2018

Christine Alane (Rudebeck) Ramsay was born on April 5, 1955, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Don and Myrtle (Jensen) Rudebeck.  She was baptized and confirmed at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, MN.  Chris graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1973.

Chris was united in marriage to Keith Ramsay on June 21, 1975, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corlis, MN.  She attended Anoka-Hennepin Technical College and earned a degree in Computer Science.  The couple lived in Dayton for 17 years where they were blessed with two sons, Erik and Chad.  Chris was a homemaker until the boys were older, and then went to work for AJ Machinery in Elk River.  The family moved to Otesego where they lived for 3 years.  In 1996, the family moved to Alexandria where they built a lake home on Lake Lobster, with Keith the general contractor and Chris the designer. Chris worked for Colorful Seasons for a few years before working as a Paraprofessional at Lincoln Elementary.  She had a passion for kids especially children with special needs.  Most of all, Chris had a passion for Christ and her family. She was very active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as a Steven’s Minister and a Sunday School Teacher.  She was a very loving and persistent to help lead family and friends to the Lord.

Besides the love of children, Chris enjoyed painting, rosemaling, making custom jewelry, sewing, scrapbooking, making wedding cakes, photography, gardening, canning and she was a great cook.  She also loved being outdoors, tending to her rosebushes, fishing and loved traveling many places especially Door County and Hawaii.

Chris died on January 23, 2018, at her home in Alexandria at the age of 62.  She is survived by her loving husband, Keith of Alexandria; sons, Erik (Stacy) Ramsay of Baudette, and Chad Ramsay of Alexandria; sisters, Nancy Loring of Chisago City, Betty (Charlie) Block of Harrison, Arkansas, and Barb (Jerry) Ramsay of Vadnais Heights; brother, Mark (Leah Arnold) Billik of Lindstrom; and many nieces and nephews.  Chris is preceded in death by father, Don Rudebeck; mother, Myrtle Billik; step dad, Vernon Billik; brother, Dave Rudebeck; nephews, Keith Smith and Dan Rudebeck.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
