Albert Suter, age 82, of Alexandria died Monday, May 9, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and also one hour prior to the service at church.
OBITUARY
Albert Xavier Suter was born March 22, 1934 on a farm north of Maynard, MN, the son of Albert and Margaret (Dondelinger) Suter. He attended school at Clara City and was a member of St. Clara’s Catholic Church. Later Albert attended school in Maynard.
On April 30, 1954 Albert was united in marriage to Yvonne Lanning at St. Clara’s parsonage. The couple was blessed with several children. Albert worked as a farmer and a well digger. For four years he operated a bar before taking a job working on elevator construction. For twenty four years Albert worked as a construction supervisor for Hogenson Construction. In 1981 Albert started his own company, Lake Mary Construction. He worked in several states and in Canada. Following his retirement Albert sold his company to his son, James.
Albert was an avid basketball and baseball player. He was an excellent golfer, enjoyed golfing and won many championships. He enjoyed travelling and spending time in the south. Albert loved hunting, fishing and playing cards and games.
On Monday, May 9, 2016 Albert died at the age of eighty two years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children; one grandson, Gary Michael Suter; and one sister. Albert is survived by his wife, Yvonne Suter; five children, Kim Suter and husband, Mark Skidmore, Kathy Lacey, Albert Charles Suter, Karen Moe and husband, Steve, and James Suter; grandchildren, Justin, Stephanie, Amanda, Ali, Kyle, Amber, Ashley and James; seven great grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Church of St. Mary. Enichement will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Urn bearers include all of Albert’s grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers include Morrie Simes, Tom Hendricks, Jim Wildung, Larry Okerlund, Mike Fernholz, Troy Groothuis and Charles Payne.
