Ardean Ardis (Wilke) Hollatz

March 22, 1933 ~ November 8, 2018 (age 85)

Ardean Ardis (Wilke) Hollatz was born March 22, 1933, to Albert and Viola (Proehl) Wilke in Parkers Prairie Township. She grew up on the family farm, enjoying country living with all her cats and dogs. She attended country school at District 250, followed by Nurse’s Aide training. Childhood music lessons also made music a big part of her life. She was an accomplished organist who shared her love of music with many students.

Ardean was raised in the Lutheran faith, being baptized, confirmed, and married at St. James Country Church. She was church organist there for five years. Ardean was united in marriage to Ruben Hollatz in 1952, and they moved to their newly built home in Parkers Prairie. They joined Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was very active playing organ, directing choirs and volunteering with the WINGS program. Later in life, she joined the First Baptist Church of Parkers Prairie where she was active in the music ministry as well.

Ardean’s employment included Hollin Drug Store, St. William’s Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Aide, and Parkers Prairie Medical Clinic as the Medical Receptionist. Ruben and Ardean were blessed with one son, Tim. She will always be remembered for her love of her family, small animals, and chocolate.

Ardean passed from this world and into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at St. William's Living Center at the age of 85.  She is survived by her son, Tim and daughter-in-law, Audrey Hollatz; grandson, Ben and wife Katie Hollatz; granddaughter, Lauren and husband Bjorn Ahlberg; three great-grandsons: Luke, Logan and Landon Hollatz, all of Hutchinson, Minnesota. Also surviving are her brother, Vincent (Erma Jean) Wilke, sisters-in-law Verna Wilke and Hertha Benson; nephews, John Benson and Keith Wilke, and niece, Janet (Terry) Carlson.  Ardean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ruben, and her brother, Delmer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Parkers Prairie. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
