Harry John Zenner of Nelson, MN, passed away at his home at the age of eighty-five years.
Harry was born November 21, 1931 in St. Cloud, MN, to Henry and Anna (Karls) Zenner. He grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from Cathedral High School. Following high school Harry served in the United States Air Force, from June 1949 to November 1952, where he was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged from the service and upon his return to Minnesota Harry attended St. Cloud State University where he received his degree in business.
On May 20, 1955 Harry was united in marriage to Mary Peters in Cold Spring, MN. They were blessed with two children, Scott and Sandy. The family lived in St. Cloud, New Ulm, MN and later Alexandria, MN. Harry's entire career as financial advisor was spent with just one company. He retired from ITT Financial at the age of fifty-five years.
Harry liked going hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He especially enjoyed trips to the casinos with close friends. Harry was a very fun-loving person who had a great knack for storytelling; of which there were many.
Harry is survived by his children, Scott Zenner and wife, Judy, of Fergus Falls, MN and Sandy Steinemann and husband, Ed, of Paynesville, MN; grandchildren, Kylie, Hayden and Haylie Zenner; sisters-in-law, Pat Zenner of Sauk Rapids, Evie Zenner of Cold Spring, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Zenner; and brothers Vernon Zenner, Mike Zenner and Roman Zenner; and sister-in-law, Rosie Zenner.
A visitation and celebration of Harry's life will be held from 11 AM to 1:30 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment will follow at a later date at St. Boniface Cemetery in Cold Spring. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home.
