Harold Engebretson

Harold Engebretson was born March 4, 1932 in Pelican Rapids, MN, the son of Olavus and Inga (Stephenson) Engebretson. He grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids.
Harold joined the United States Air Force in December 1951. Following his training Harold served at Finley Air Force Station near Finley, ND. He served there until his discharge in February 1955.
In 1953 Harold married Eunice Kamphaug. The couple was blessed with three children, Gary, Daniel and David. Following his discharge from the Air Force Harold moved his family to Pelican Rapids. He began a career driving truck. Harold Drove for Evanson’s Trucking, Farnum’s Trucking and Park Region Oil. He loved traveling the area and across America. Following his retirement in 1984 Harold continued his love of traveling. He was always ready to go for a ride and stop at his favorite truck stops.
In 1980 Harold was united in marriage to Yvonne Aguilar. Later Harold made his home in Osakis, MN for six years before moving to Alexandria, MN to be with his son Dan.
Harold enjoyed playing the guitar in his younger days and loved to listen to country music.
On Monday, March 30, 2015 Harold died at the age of eighty-three years. He was preceded in death by his wives, Eunice and Yvonne, his son, Gary Engebretson; one brother, Oscar Engebretson; and two sisters, Minnie Peterson and Sally Peterson. Harold is survived by his sons, Daniel Engebretson and wife, Barb, of Alexandria and David Engebretson of Garland, TX; one granddaughter, Tyanna Griffin and husband, Adam; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Pelican Valley Cemetery near Pelican Rapids.
