Anderson Funeral Home is a full-service funeral home that will professionally and compassionately fulfill all of your requests when the death of a loved one occurs.

At Anderson Funeral Home we perform cremations for our clients on-site. This allows our staff to personally oversee all aspects regarding the care of your loved one.

The Arrangement conference
In all cases a professional funeral director from Anderson Funeral Home will meet with you to:
  1. Discuss the options available and what type of service you are interested in.
  2. Schedule the time and place of the service including cemetery arrangements.
  3. Contact and schedule the clergy and musicians.
  4. Compose and schedule the obituary notices to be distributed to radios and newspapers.
  5. Contact the appropriate government agencies such as Social Security and the Veterans Administration to make sure all benefits due to you are applied for.
  6. Assist you with any choices that you need to make such as casket selection, flowers, vaults, and clothing.
  7. Make all the appropriate cemetery or crematory contacts.
  8. Be of 24 hour service to you during this time.
Some of our most popular types of funeral and memorial options are:

Traditional Funeral Services
This type of service consists of a funeral in a church or our chapel. It, in most cases, also provides a time of visitation at the funeral home the evening before and a graveside service at a cemetery following the funeral service.

Tradional Funeral Services with a Distant Burial
We recognize that our clients in Alexandria have not all lived here their entire lives. Being a major retirement community we also recognize that many of the retired people have friends and church homes in Alexandria, but also roots in another community. We are able to meet the needs of families who want to bury their loved ones at Fort Snelling National Cemetery or the State Veteran's Cemetery at Camp Ripley, at cemeteries throughout Minnesota and also out of state.

Some families choose services in two different towns or cities. We are able to accommodate these families with no additional service charge.

Cremation Services
Anderson Funeral Home offers cremation as a means of final disposition of your loved ones remains. Cremation can be done prior to a memorial service or it can be done following a funeral service allowing the body to be viewed and present for the visitation and funeral.

We will professionally carry out all cremations according to the family's wishes. Contact us to learn of the options for cremation.

Out of Town Deaths
If a death occurs out of the Alexandria area, contact us as soon as possible. We will visit with you to find out what your wishes are and then carry them out at the least possible cost. In order to avoid added charges always call your hometown funeral director first.
